Fall 2009 Teen Art Exhibit -- Landscapes
November 25, 2009 By Stephanie Lu
When an artist creates a landscape-based artwork it is almost never an exact replica of the view. This is true even of photographs of landscapes. Nicole’s photo of an existent view uses a particular perspective and focus that allows the viewer to imagine what the continued background may look like.
December Teen Art Exhibit -- nach rel
November 24, 2008 By Robyn Lax
This is the first of a series of exhibits of art works created and curated by East Brunswick teens. Look down this page to get a preview and then stop by the Teen Space to view the exhibit first hand.
This exhibit, “Nach´rel,” runs through the end of January.
Message from the curator:
I chose the theme natural because most of the world we live in is organic. The words origin and organic are closely related and this idea fascinates me.
The art works in this exhibit have many ways of interpreting this subject. Alia’s and Kristina’s drawings both look real but one looks rugged while the other is more refined and idealistic. Karolina’s, on the other hand, is more stylized.

The mediums the artists chose totally change the way things look. Painted ones have a big variety of color and blending. The graphite drawings have soft values and texture. In the photos, the flower is more dramatic and picks up the light while the cracked log is more about texture and composition. The linoleum print has a retro feel while the three-dimensional work gives a more abstracted view of nature.
