35 hours per week, including Thursday nights plus one Sunday per month, or as needed.

Duties: 

The East Brunswick Public Library is seeking a Youth Services Manager (YS Manager) for our Children’s, Tween, and Teen departments. The YS Manager is the outward face of the department to the schools, residents, and businesses of East Brunswick. This position requires strong interpersonal, marketing, and leadership skills. The YS Manager is responsible for articulating a department vision that closely aligns with community expectations. The individual must exude a passion for youth librarianship and the ability to forge close working relationships with public and private schools and community organizations. The YS manager is responsible for the department’s day-to-day operations; mentors staff; oversees scheduling; develops collections and policies; covers the Youth Services desk; meets within and outside the library with community members; and participates at library outreach events as the face of the Youth Services Department. The YS Manager analyzes data and trends, maintains reports and files, and prepares budget reports for the library director.

Education, Minimum Training and Experience: 

Candidates must have a Master’s degree in library science from an ALA accredited library school and minimum 5 years of management or supervisory experience.

Salary: 

$75,000+ commensurate with experience and qualifications.
