Tween Stress-Less Night
We’re keeping the library open late—from 5:30 to 8:30—just for tweens in grades 5–7 and their parents or guardians! Join us for a relaxing evening of food, fun, and learning. Tweens can unwind with calming activities like crafts and yoga, or enjoy some stress relief by meeting a miniature therapy horse and cow—right here at the library!
This program is sponsored by Mayor Cohen’s Mental Health Task Force in partnership with the East Brunswick Public Library. There will be mental health counselors joining us from NJ4S of Rutgers Behavioral Health who will share ways tweens can handle stress and anxiety. Kids will also get a brief introduction to Soluna—a new, free wellbeing app for teens and young adults funded by the New Jersey Department of Children and Families.
Tweens will enjoy pizza and make-your-own sundaes, and will receive a goodie bag at the end of the evening.
Parents/guardians are required to stay for the entire program but will be in a separate meeting room where they can network and enjoy pizza, cookies, and coffee. There will be a short presentation for parents by NJ4S on tween/teen mental health.
