Just Say Yes to Fruits and Vegetables (Zoom)
Space limited to 25 attendees. Registration required. Event password will be emailed to registrants the day before the event.
Zakiya Stewart and Victoria Galarza will teach healthy eating skills and build confidence in shopping and eating healthier on a low budget. The lesson includes nutrition education, interactive activities, and discussing a recipe for adults to make at home. "Fruits and Vegetables" teaches the benefits of eating more fruits and vegetables and how to increase the consumption daily.
About the Speakers:
A New Jersey native with a passion to help people, Zakiya got her start at College of Saint Elizabeth where she received her Bachelors of Science in Foods and Nutrition. Currently she is a nutrition educator with the SNAP-Ed program where she teaches cooking and fitness classes to children and young adults.
After receiving her bachelor's degree in Nutrition and Food Sciences from Montclair State University, Victoria wanted to follow a path to educate people on Nutrition. She strives as a Nutrition Educator for SNAP-Ed by helping communities of several age groups, teaching them the importance of consuming healthier foods and being physically active.
