Dungeons & Dragons (Gr. 8-12)

Mar 30 - 1:30pm to 4:30pm

Join teen volunteer Eliot to learn how to play Dungeons and Dragons! This cult classic tabletop roleplaying game allows for immersive adventures in fantasy realms. Learn how to develop your own original character and then work together with other players to pursue buried treasure as a pirate crew!

This program is for students grades 8-12 and welcomes players of all experience levels. Even if you've never played D&D before, we'll help you get started with everything you need to know! Players are encouraged to bring your own dice if you have them (extra dice will be available to borrow), as well as a pen/pencil and notebook.

This short introductory campaign will run for five weeks. Please plan to attend all five sessions, since it's difficult to complete a campaign when one or more party members are missing! Short breaks will be taken during each session, and light snacks will be provided!

Dates and times:

  • Sunday March 23, 1:30-4:30 PM (Session 0, introduction to D&D, character creation, introduction to your pirate adventure)
  • Sunday March 30, 1:30-4:30 PM (Session 1, begin the adventure)
  • Sunday April 6, 1:30-4:30 PM (Session 2)
  • Sunday April 13, 1:30-4:30 PM (Session 3)
  • Sunday April 27, 1:30-4:30 PM (Session 4, please note the change of date, since the library is closed Sunday April 20 for Easter Sunday.)
